TVN Embraces GhostFrame Technology

TVN and GhostFrame Reach Partnership Agreement for the European market

Leek, The Netherlands (30 November 2021) – German media service provider TVN and GhostFrame partner AGS AG have agreed on strategic cooperation in rolling out sales activities for GhostFrame on the European market. GhostFrame can display multiple simultaneous images and video content within one video frame on a single LED wall. TVN sees the undeniable advantages of this technology for use in broadcast and film.

GhostFrame is a collaboration of AGS, MEGAPIXEL VR, and ROE Visual. The GhostFrame technology is based on nanosecond matching of video subframes and the cameras in use. This application of so-called GhostFrame MultiSource enables latency-free production in a variety of layouts. While one or more cameras can capture several subframes, the human eye can only perceive one selected image content at a time. The tracking feature is realized exclusively via partnering company TrackMen.

"TVN sees the undeniable advantages of GhostFrame for use in broadcast and film".

"With GhostFrame, we can show completely different image content in the broadcast signal," says Julian Rössig, Sales Manager for TVN. "While the people acting in front of the cameras are supported editorially with background material or additional texts, product information could be displayed for the audience, for example."

"By adding GhostFrame to our offering, we complement our range of services and offer our customers even more creative flexibility," Frank Hähnel, CEO for TVN, comments on the partnership.

TVN and GhostFrame partner AGS share a long partnership in outdoor broadcasting and the same standards for quality and safety. Max von Braun, Chief Innovation Officer at AGS, says: "I am pleased to have TVN on board as a partner for GhostFrame. With this step, we are creating new standards in content production technology."

Currently, the construction of TVN's Greenscreen studio in Hanover is in progress, offering an area of about 250 sqm. The process involved the integration of a ROE Visual LED wall, Megapixel VR’s HELIOS LED processing system, and TrackMen’s tracking camera, along with the procurement of new cameras and control units. Thus, TVN can benefit from the latest technology concerning its own client productions. The studio is also intended as a testing and certification space for manufacturers from the industry and training of other service providers.

"We adhere to high standards in customer support, which, undoubtedly, will extend to GhostFrame. Clients can rest assured they will receive the support they need to set up and operate the technology," says Andreas Cohrs, Key Account Manager for TVN.
